About our dog food
Home cooked diets are undoubtedly better than a dry food or canned diet. However, aside from the fact that many of us live busy lives where cooking for our dog is not always practicable, the main downside of home cooked diets is that owners do not balance their dogs diet properly as dogs have different nutritional requirements to humans.
Once you have opened the pack and there is a portion that is unused, place it gently in your glass fridge chub container and store in your fridge, ready to serve fresh at your dog’s next mealtime. Once a pack has been opened make sure it is used within 5 days.
Initially, puppies need four meals a day but this can be reduced to three a day at about 12 weeks. At six months, they can have two meals a day, which can continue for the rest of their life. A puppy will eat twice as much as an adult dog, which will gradually reduce as they reach adulthood.
Pets Love Fresh has been developed to provide as much nutritional benefit for dogs as possible. This is achieved by sourcing human grade ingredients and then cooking at a low temperature so that the food retains as many nutrients as possible by using pasteurising techniques as opposed to processing techniques. This is in contrast to dry food which is cooked at high temperatures to extend shelf life and consequently retains little nutritional value. PetsLoveFresh also solves the problems being experienced with raw based diets where dogs are not eating balanced diets and are often eating low grade proteins which cause increased instance of allergy.
It’s still important to transition slowly so the change is gentle on your pet’s tummy; we recommend doing so gradually over a period of 7-10 days. Start by feeding both PetsLoveFresh and your pet’s current food, and increase the amount of PetsLoveFresh every few days, while decreasing your pet’s current food. Then enjoy the change in your pet’s appetite at feeding time, and the lasting benefits you’ll notice from our nutritionally balanced meals.
We will deliver your food frozen or slightly thawed. We'd recommend that you store the food in the freezer, then each time you need a chub of food for your dog, you put it in the fridge to thaw out overnight, ready to eat the next day. Once the food has thawed, it has a 5 day shelf life in the fridge.
We recommend that you do not leave the food in the bowl for longer than 2-3 hours, although your dog will have most likely eaten everything up by then.
Pets Love Fresh is not organic but we have sourced from trusted British suppliers to ensure the highest quality ingredients. Few, if any, pet foods are 100% organic (even those that claim to be “organic”) due to difficulty in sourcing organic ingredients, particularly when it comes to vitamins and minerals that dogs need. Our focus is on finding the highest quality, freshest, all natural ingredients.
Pets Love Fresh is only available to order over the Internet. When you order your box through the website, we'll ask you for some information on your dog, from this we'll make a recommendation on how much to feed your dog each day. You then have the option to choose how often you'd like us to deliver food to you (this can be on a weekly basis, fortnightly or monthly). You can edit, pause and cancel your subscription at any time.

We send our food directly from our freezers to your home on DPD’s next day delivery service, so it should always be within 24 hours. We also send the food out in insulated freezer boxes, so it should arrive to you still frozen or partially defrosted.
Absolutely, we send our food out in insulated freezer boxes and when you open up the box you’ll see the food is either still completely frozen or partially frozen. This means that it has remained at a safe cool temperature which is too low to spoil. As soon as you receive your food, we’d recommend putting some in the freezer and some in the fridge ready to be consumed over the next few days.
If you aren’t 100% happy with what was delivered, please get in touch with us through the Contact Us page, we’ll do our best to ensure we reply to you within 24 hours to try and ensure that you are 100% satisfied with the outcome.
